Cantine Aperte – Italy's Wine Day

When the word “wine” is spoken, the first place which comes to our mind is “Italy”. Yeah friends you are right, its because Italy is the motherland to worlds most famous wines. Italy is famous all over the world for its wines, so even if you are not a bit of wine enthusiastic i suggest you to visit them for the scenic beauty they possess. Believe me it just feels like heaven. Most regions of Italy produce wines in their vineyards including the islands of Sicily and Sardinia. There are so many vineyards in Italy that its said “In Italy wherever you are, you are never far from a vineyard.”

A tour to Italian winery can be arranged in advance. There a dozens of tour companies providing it or you can also arrange it on your own. Tour companies provide packages starting from few hours to a number of days, if you are buying a tour package see that you go for the best available deals with good discounts. If you plan a trip on you own do a well panning in advance because all wineries do not have a tasting room and after going this far I bet you would like to do more than just standing at the gates and looking at the wineries afar. Here the people are very familiar to travelers so most of them open their gates to travelers but all the wineries do not have a tasting room which is open at regular hours.

If you are novice to wines we suggest you to take a tour package from a good provider because they also teach you proper tasting of wines and also provide you with the general information for the particular wine. As we said mostly all the regions in Italy have vineyards but there are some better then the others like the vineyards of Chianti region and the ones on islands of Sicily and Sardinia. So plan a good trip before you just start of as its a once in a lifetime experience and you wont like to stand at the gates and stare at the vineyards afar.

Weather you are a much of wine enthusiastic or not it doesn't matter much, actually what matters is the unique experience of visiting these vineyards, and enjoying the scenic beauty. And if u really are mad about wines visit Italy on the last sunday of may each year. This day is celebrated as “Cantine Aperte” event or “Open cellars”. On this particular day every year wineries throughout Italy throws their doors open for general public and travelers. Visitors get to see how the wine is actually made, the whole process from top to bottom about wines like sampling of goods and also taste other local products like different types of cheese, olive oils, etc and the most important thing it will give you a chance to live an Italian country life. We suggest you to rent a luxurious Villas, ancient Castle, Apartment or farmhouse, according to your traveling budgets. Staying in such accommodation rentals you will get to know perfect Italians culture. PosarelliVillas, is always there to help you get a Ferienhaus in Toskana, Italy.

Open Cellar's Day

One thing to keep an eye out for if you’re a wine enthusiast is the annual “Cantine Aperte” event, or “Open Cellars.” It’s one day every year when wineries throughout the country throw open their doors in a kind of open house. Visitors can see how the wine is made, sample the goods, and even taste other local products like cheeses and olive oils. It’s also a great chance to get a peek at Italian country life, especially fun if you’ve mostly stuck to the Italian cities during the rest of your visit.
